Ahmet Temim (5), whose skull bones were shattered as a result of a motorcycle accident in Syria, was referred to Private Iskenderun Gelişim Hospital after the first intervention in Reyhanlı and was treated by Brain, Spinal Cord and Nerve Surgery Specialist Op. Dr. He came back to life with the operation performed by Selçuk Gözcü. Ahmet Temim, who survived the life-threatening situation after the operation, was discharged after his ongoing treatment in the General Intensive Care Unit.
Explaining his experiences after the motorcycle accident in Syria, Father Temim stated that it was a miracle that his son survived and said, “We returned to Syria with my family for vacation and my son had a motorcycle accident there. At first I didn’t know what to do and I thought my son was dead. We hurriedly brought Ahmet to Reyhanlı, and from the hospital there, Ahmet was first transferred to a hospital in Iskenderun and then to Private Iskenderun Gelişim Hospital. Dr. Mr. Selçuk immediately took my son into surgery and saved his life. “I thank him very much for donating our son to us,” he said.

Op. Dr. Selçuk Gözcü gave information about the operation they performed and said, “Ahmet, who was brought to our hospital unconscious and connected to a respirator, was examined in the Emergency Service and had a tomography scan. After the examinations, it was seen that the patient’s brain was shattered by the skull bones, and preparations for surgery were started immediately. In the operation we successfully carried out with our team; The bone fragments stuck in the brain were cleaned, the bleeding foci in the brain were stopped and the meninges were repaired. Since the patient did not have a skull bone, a synthetic skull bone was replaced. After the successful surgery, we took Ahmet to the General Intensive Care Unit. The next day, our patient regained consciousness and started breathing on his own. “During the follow-up period, the patient fully regained consciousness and is now conscious,” he said.
